Hi,
I would like get more details about single node RAC..

What is single Node RAC?..
1). just configure only one server instead of two node... same RAC installation.. cluster installation and shared disk configuration in single server itself.. in future we can add node to this ...
2). in 11gR2 having new feature Single Node RAC.. Multiple instances running on same node and configure using Cluster...
Please explain me in detail which one is correct in above 2 statement..

is there any advantage using single node rac(other than online upgrade to full RAC)..

is it high availability...?

Regards,
Madhan

Hi,
it looks like Data guard, Single Node rac automatically relocate instances from failed server means.. its available with dataguard itself.. then why single node rac is required...

if this option enabled in 11g means.. what about 10g single node rac...?

This is not at all the same solution.
RAC -> 1 database
Data Guard -> 2 databases.
