Christopher (Chris) J. Date (1941-) is an independent author, lecturer, researcher, and consultant of international renown, specializing in relational database technology.

He was also involved with Edgar Codd's relational model for database management. One of the normal forms in database normalization, the Boyce-Codd Normal Form (BCNF), is named after him.
